If you’re a stranded British expat who’s craving a pot of tea and a full English breakfast, then you’d better get yourself over to Scallys.
We’ll give you the address later but frankly, if you go wandering around Chinatown you have a good chance of spotting it. It’s the kind of place that’s rather hard to miss!
Inside you’ll find tables decked with candles and tea cups. It’s a cozy little spot, both in terms of atmosphere and in terms of the size. There’s not much room so if you’re coming for a weekend lunch, come early!
The full-English breakfast really hit the spot!
And there’s plenty more on the menu, including pictures of Diana!
To eat you can choose from scones, cakes, omelettes, various sandwiches and melts, salads and much more. Of course there’s also a wide selection of teas.
Our only problem with Scallys is that it’s not very kid friendly. The aisles are narrow (there’s no room for prams) and there are tons of antiques for little hands to touch. For that reason alone, we won’t be visiting again for a while but on our next kid-free day out we’ll be back to enjoy the tea and cakes!
Where to find it: Wagenstraat 117, 2512 AS Den Haag. The nearest tram stops are Spui and Grote Markt.
